EMW Helping Hand Award Application

Each year 4 Helping Hand awards are given to Evangelical Methodist young people.

SCHOLARSHIP POLICIES:

The Helping Hand Award student must attend an approved college seeking a degree in Christian ministry or areas of service such as teaching or nursing.

The Helping Hand Award student earning a grade average of "B" or better is automatically eligible to apply for a Scholarship the following year.

The Helping Hand Award student is to attend and perform Christian service (if needed) in an Evangelical Methodist Church in the vicinity of the College where he or she is attending, if possible. The student who cannot attend an E.M.C. must contact the General Conference President for permission to attend another church.

The Helping Hand Award student automatically forfeits the Scholarship grant if he or she does not comply with this stipulation.

Only one Helping Hand Award per year may be given to a Local Church.

If the Helping Hand Award student drops out of College before the school year is complete; he or she repays to the E.M.W. General Conference Treasurer the amount of the Scholarship already paid to the college.

Applicants for the Helping Hand Award must complete and submit this application by May 31st. If you have any questions, please contact the EMW VP of Christian Education, Rev. Debbie Miller at millerdebbie8@gmail.com.
